Venice airport Transfers

Airports in Venice include Venice Marco Polo Airport, named after the infamous explorer Marco Polo. It serves as the main airport in Venice, serviced by major airlines and low-cost carriers. The Sant’ Angelo Treviso Airport is the second Venice airport mainly used by budget airlines such as Ryan Air but more conveniently located for ski transfers from Venice.
The Marco Polo Airport is the third largest in Italy ensuing to the sizeable services and facilities of Venice airport transfers. Buses and taxis are available right outside the airport. Connected to the airport is the railway station Venice-Mestre. There are water boat services like motoscafi (motorboats), vaporetti (little steamers), and gondolas that symbolize the city.
Via Venice airport you got access to trains, buses, transfer shuttles and traditional taxis. The shuttles and taxis offer shared or private services. From Venice you can get to ski destinations such as Cortina d’Ampezzo, Verona, Jesolo, etc.
Venice is one of the foremost tourist destinations in the world and most people fly to Venice not just for access to nearby ski resorts. Even if you use Venice airport as gateway to the Dolomites for s ki trip, you should put a day aside to see the city. The city never fails to amaze tourists with its abundance of history. Piazza San Marco is one of the most beautiful squares in the world and the largest in Venice. It has been called as the living room of Venice. The café terraces are always crammed full. The churches in Venice are world-renowned as well. St. Mark Basilica is a Byzantine architecture that represents Venice’s glorious history. A plethora of mosaics decorate the exterior and interior of the church including the ceiling. On the edge of the Grand Canal is the octagonal Santa Maria della Salute that was constructed in the 17th century. The palaces are an utter beauty. Perhaps the most popular is the Palazzo Ducal, where doges and chief magistrates of the republic used to reside. The palace rests on Gothic arcades, built between 1309 and 1549.
Being so famous, Venice can be an expensive destination, which is also reflected in the prices for flights as airlines do not differentiate between tourists visiting Venice and skiers using the airport as a ski transfer gateway. Booking Venice flights and Venice airport transfers well in advance is highly recommended. Flying to Treviso is probably a better option for getting to ski resorts and probably a lot less expensive.
